New Wheels

Sidney is a 63-year old man  from Aurukun who has a history of cardiovascular accidents. As a result, Sidney mobilises with a wheelchair. He was recently provided with an electric wheelchair through NDIS. During a community visit to Aurukun, the Active Performance and Creative Consulting team supported Sidney to practice using his new electric wheelchair. Sidney wore a big smile and enthusiastically pretended to be a member of his favourite NRL team (the Broncos) while navigating his way around opponents (which were the AP and CC team members). Sidney also used his electric wheelchair to mobilise around his neighbourhood and interact with others in the community. This was the first time Sidney was able to mobilise long-distances around his community independently since his most recent stroke.
