Simon Morris

Simon graduated from the University of Queensland in 2005 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree. He immediately followed his interest in sports physiotherapy and spent the next 7 years working in Brisbane and the Gold Coast as partner in a private practice treating athletes of all sports, including Olympic and Commonwealth Games athletes. During this period, Simon was also contracted to Village Roadshow Theme Parks as the company’s Occupational Physiotherapist.

In 2015, Simon joined the Papua New Guinea Olympic Committee to establish their High-Performance Sport Program. Simon became the Sports Medicine Manager for the most elite athletes in PNG within this program. During this time, Simon, his wife and three children lived with his wife’s family in PNG and immersed themselves in learning the local way of life and cultural customs.

Simon has since relocated to Cairns and has been with AP since 2017, working in private practice and Indigenous health whilst continuing his involvement with PNG sports as the Kumul’s Rugby League team physiotherapist. Away from work, Simon enjoys being outdoors, fishing, and most of all, spending time with his wife and three beautiful children who are his pride and joy.
