Simon Mead

Simon initially started working in the health and fitness industry as a qualified personal trainer and massage therapist. This knowledge in exercise prescription and manual therapy set a solid foundation to complete a Bachelor of Exercise Science degree in 2007 and a Master’s of Physiotherapy in 2010 through Griffith University. To compliment his skills in physiotherapy and exercise prescription, Simon became a qualified clinical Pilate’s instructor and strongly believes in the use of Pilates to compliment physiotherapy treatment.

Simon has been in the AP team since 2014 and is highly experienced in Indigenous Health and Occupational Health. His working experience includes roles with Carlton United Brewery, Pentair, MJD Foundation, BHP Billiton and South32 mining. In addition to physiotherapy, Simon is a qualified audio metric officer and occupational spirometry tester and is qualified to complete Occupational Health surveillance assessments. He is also accredited to complete onsite drug and alcohol testing compliant to Australian Standards.

Outside of Occupational Health, Simon has worked extensively in private practice, travelling nationally and internationally with elite athletes, including the Australian Olympic Swimming and Kayak teams, the Australian Paralympic Running team, and the Indian Olympic Shooting team.

In his spare time, Simon enjoys surfing, fishing, camping, cooking, and running.
